Atilia Haron & Lokman Aslam
Since the launch of her album Sangkar at the end of March 2007, Atilia, then the new name in Malaysian Neo-Jazz made several performances and appearances that were well received by the Malaysian public.
With her performances at various renowned venues in Kuala Lumpur, she performed to packed houses that responded with great applause. She had at last embarked on her musical career. The daughter of 70’s “little dynamite” Salamiah Hassan, this musical prodigy, wrote most of the songs in Sangkar together with Jason Voo. Her current album, Indah, featured Atilia with Jakarta based indie band Sore, for their song Silly Little Things have escalated her popularity and made her presence felt in Indonesia.
Being one of the most popular artists in Malaysia, Atilia’s future looked positive and she never fails to surprise the Malaysian audience with new and rejuvenated music, stage and concert productions.
For her show at Alexis this weekend, Lokman Aslam will be joining her on stage. Lokman Aslam is the name in the Malaysian Contemporary Jazz, an icon in his own right. His effortless style of singing captivates the listeners and confirms that he is a rare talent as a singer from the clarity and crispness of his voice. His big break came when he joined a talent contest in 2006, 8TV’s very own reality show One In a Million. He finished off as Top 7, alongside big names Faizal Tahir and Alif Satar. Lokman Aslam’s talent became evident after several performances and appearances at the World Youth Jazz Festival, KL International Jazz Festival and No Black Tie. His debut single Namun Engkau Tahu has over 100,000 hits on YouTube. This musical talent has flair in putting words and sounds in perfect harmony. His original composition, Perempuan was shortlisted as one of the Top 15 of Project Aloft Star 2015, Amplified by MTV. He is a musical genius, a singer-songwriter who creates beautiful melodies and his last composition entitled Aku Cinta Pada Mu was used for a local advertising campaign by Fair & Lovely, an FMCG company owned by Unilever and has over 1,000,000 views on YouTube. Continuing with his passion and commitment for music, Lokman Aslam just finished off working on his latest single with Atilia for a song entitled Segalanya.
